Tracking
Task and project tracking
A workflow-oriented task and project management system: create, assign, track status, manage deadlines and organise work by project.
- Role: Feature owner
- Organisation: Pexus Tech
- Domain: Productivity · task and project management
- Scope of involvement: Feature ownership (owned features, enhancements and change requests)
Overview
Tracking helps teams organise work, assign responsibilities, manage deadlines and monitor progress, in one integrated workflow for tasks and projects across teams.
Product challenge
Teams need one place to move from a task being created to someone owning it, its status being visible, its deadline being met and the work being organised by project.
My role
Feature ownership within the product.
- Owned and delivered multiple features for the system.
- Worked on product requirements and feature enhancements.
- Contributed to shaping the task and project tracking workflows.
- Coordinated requirements and implementation across the feature delivery lifecycle.
Key features
The system's capabilities, which the features I owned sit within:
- Task creation and assignment.
- Status updates and progress tracking.
- Deadline management.
- Project organisation.
- Tags and categorisation.
- Comments and task-related collaboration.
Product thinking
The product is a workflow, so requirements are framed around each step of it:
- Create → Assign: every task has a clear owner.
- Assign → Track: status and progress are visible without asking.
- Track → Deliver: deadlines are managed, not just recorded.
- Organise: projects, tags and comments keep related work together.
Outcome
An integrated workflow for tracking tasks and projects across teams, covering creation, assignment, status, deadlines, organisation and collaboration.
